Dog Trainer Who Loves All Animals

Pet care experience

(Please contact me directly for exact price on visits. Rover has been calculating them incorrectly.) **If you are interested in having me house sit for you, please be aware that I will have my dog staying with me.** Hey there! I am a local dog trainer who loves pet sitting and walking dogs. I also have over a decade of experience with horses, cats, and dogs. I have experience working around all domestic species and can walk any size dog comfortably. I also teach puppy classes so I'm very knowledgeable about puppy behavior and care. Thanks for considering me. Be sure to read through entire bio before booking! I provide the following services: 1. House sitting - I am more than happy to stay at your place and make sure your dog, cat, or other animals are well cared for while you are at work or on a vacation! I am also a trainer so I can help train some of the basic behaviors. **All house sitting requests must be willing to have my dog stay in their home with me. Well-trained and friendly towards all animals.** 2. Drop-in visits - these are great for people who work long hours and need someone to come care for their pet during their shift. These include more than just walking your dog for the length of the visit. These are also good for people whose animals cannot be around my dog full time as they would be for house sitting. 3. Dog walking - This is perfect for people who are not able to walk their dogs for one reason or another. Maybe you have a health issue or maybe you work long hours and just need someone to get them out to use the bathroom. Whatever it is, I'm happy to help. I specialize in "reactivity walks" where I can help your reactive dog learn to react less. **Reactive dogs have a slight price increase of $10 due to liabilities and needing a more experienced walker.** 4. Animal training - I can provide you with resources to train your dog, cat, or any other animal with some basic behaviors such as sit, lay down, walking on a loose leash. I can also help with some more advanced issues such as aggression, fear and anxiety. I have over a decade of experience in training and providing rehabilitation for aggressive and fearful animals. My professional training services are available but not through Rover. Please contact me if interested. No animal will be trained to do dangerous things like jumping on people or mouthing. Animals will only be trained in ways that help your home feel more harmonious with your animals. If you have any specific requests, please let me know. Note: There are slight price increases for animals that require a different level of care (i.e. horses, pigs, other livestock, birds, and exotics). Other price increases occur for training while in my care (+$10-$20 depending on service, needs, and liabilities). I also charge slightly more for puppies than adult dogs due to more intensive care. Info about my dog: 13 year old Cattledog mix, male. Big goof who doesn't care about bones or toys.

Your pets will always be supervised while they are outside in a fenced yard if you have one. Due to my disabilities, I may find it difficult to be outside in colder or rainy weather. When this is the case, I will let them outside and watch from the door, ready to call them inside if needed. **This is only for fenced-in backyards. At this time, I am not able to accept house sitting requests if there is no fenced yard attached to the house. This is due to my multiple disabilities. Thank you for your understanding.** If you have any questions, please ask me them when you send a booking request. Thank you.

Information Laura S. would like to know about your pet

I do not have any preferences towards dog breed, age, size, or anything else. The only thing I really need to know is any potential problem behaviors such as aggression, humping, or excessive barking/jumping up. I do not accept house sitting or drop-in visit requests if any of the animals in your home have separation anxiety, especially if it's your dog(s). Sorry for this inconvenience. Note for other species: All animals must be legal to own in all 50 states unless you can provide proof of a license to have said animal. I do not provide care for large and/or dangerous exotics unless kept in appropriate living and care arrangements. (Venomous animals, large carnivores, birds of prey, and primates are common species that will be rejected)

A typical day

The location of the walks will depend on where you live. If you live nearby a park or hiking trail, that will be where we walk the most. Fun activities: Playing with toys, cuddling, training, and puzzle toys For my dog, a long walk occurs in the morning and then play inside and outside throughout the rest of the day. More walks can be provided if needed. Training will occur daily for short spurts (typically 5-10 minutes is ideal) and up to 3 times a day.

I prioritize the pet's needs and make sure they eat at the same time you would normally feed them. I also ensure that they have been appropriately loved on or exercised a few times a day. I can only take on house sitting requests if I am able to leave the animals home alone for 4 hours at a time. I will only be leaving the home for dog walks, quick errands (such as picking up groceries if I forgot something), checking on my gerbils at my home (~1 hour max) and for work at Petsmart. Otherwise, I spend the rest of my time at your home. For those booking drop in visits or dog walks, most of my dog walks are available in the afternoon but I can take morning requests (9 am or earlier) and evening requests for certain days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) **as of July 2022, I anticipate needing to be gone for 4 hours at time on Saturdays for company events that my other job is hosting. This will be every weekend from the first weekend in July to the last weekend in October**
